Prolotherapy
For over 70+ years Prolotherapy has proven to be an effective Regenerative Medicine treatment for musculoskeletal pain.
It is a much more affordable treatment compared to Stem Cell Therapy despite being part of the same field of medicine.
PROLOTHERAPY
IS:
- Non-surgical
- Effective
- Regenerative
- A Natural Approach
- Safer than many other medical interventions
- Requires minimal/virtually no down-time
- Longest successful track record of over 80 years of published studies
Over the 70+ years that Prolotherapy has been utilised, it has proven to be an effective Regenerative Medicine treatment for musculoskeletal pain. It is a much more affordable treatment compared to Stem Cell Therapy despite being part of the same field of medicine.
WHAT
IS
PROLOTHERAPY?
Prolotherapy uses your own immune cells to repair weakened tendons and ligaments. An average increase in the size of tendons and ligaments by 65% has been observed. Prolotherapy has also been shown to increase strength by 40%. Tissue formed from Prolotherapy is strong, healthy, & flexible. As tendons and ligaments are repaired, nerves are no longer irritated, and the pain typically resolves.
HOW IS
PROLOTHERAPY
PERFORMED?
Prolotherapy involves injecting small amounts of natural substances (alongside anaesthetic to minimise pain), to the site of pain or an injury. The body’s natural repair mechanism gets stimulated which regenerates collagen or strengthens injured tissue surrounding injury. Resulting in improved joint stability, enhanced function, and decreased or absence of pain. According to various studies, Prolotherapy can have promising results for a variety of conditions.
Prolotherapy is a relatively safe and effective treatment for the following conditions:
- Headache
- Low Back Pain
- Neck Pain
- Sports Injuries
- Sciatica
- Sacroiliac JointDysfunction (SIJ)
- Arthritis
- Knee Pain
- Meniscal Tears
- Fibromyalgia
- Tennis Elbow
- Golfer’s Elbow
- Foot pain
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Ankle sprain
- Ankle pain
- Heel Pain
- Morton’s Neuroma
- Shoulder Pain
- Frozen Shoulder
- TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction)
- Injuries resulting in tendonitis – sprains or
strains of ligaments or tendons
AN AFFORDABLE & EFFECTIVE REGENERATIVE PAIN MEDICINE TREATMENT
A success rate of 80-90% according to studies
Prolotherapy can be used in conjunction with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) when required. Platelets obtained in PRP contain growth factors and bioactive proteins which are essential for tissue repair & regeneration.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHY AM I IN PAIN?
Pain is our body’s way of letting us know there is a problem. It is not something we should silence with medications and painkillers, without identifying and correcting the underlying cause. Following an injury, tendons and ligaments are often stretched and weakened.
This creates poor circulation with a large nerve supply which become irritated resulting in pain. The poor circulation deprives the injured site of the necessary nutrients for appropriate healing. Unfortunately, exercise cannot strengthen weakened ligaments & tendons (unlike muscle), but Prolotherapy can.
CAN PROLOTHERAPY HELP WITH SPORTS INJURIES?
No matter your level of athleticism, Prolotherapy can help you. Prolotherapy can provide pain relief, but it can also restore normal function and prevent future injuries by strengthening a weakened area. This weakened area cannot usually be restored or strengthened in any other way.
Several tennis pros, marathoners, and bodybuilders with serious injuries have successfully been treated with Prolotherapy, after they failed to respond to traditional medical treatment. Many of these athletes considered surgery, requiring weeks of recuperation and rehabilitation. Alternatively, after cautious research, they opt for Prolotherapy. Within a few treatments, they were back to their full, pre-injury performance. They had no down time, no recuperation time, and there was no need for extensive rehabilitation.
CAN I STRENGTHEN MY TENDONS & LIGAMENTS?
Since the tissues forming tendons & ligaments are not like muscles, they do not strengthen or improve with exercise.
Although exercise cannot strengthen weak tendons & ligaments, Prolotherapy can!
CAN PROLOTHERAPY HELP WITH ARTHRITIS?
Patients with arthritis may benefit from Prolotherapy as it can help strengthen joints and promote cartilage repair. Published studies compiled by Dr. Dean Reeves provide evidence that prolotherapy performed in arthritic joints resulted in a significant reduction in pain, swelling, knee-buckling, and improved x-ray findings including a reduction in bone spurs and cartilage regeneration.

DR. MITCHELL BLOOM
Dr. Mitchell Bloom was taught by some of the originators of Prolotherapy and has many years of experience. He discovered that in order to achieve long-term results, Comprehensive Prolotherapy is often necessary. This not only treats the painful area, but also the surrounding structures which can contribute to pain and weakness.
Most patients just require 1-6 treatments to achieve long-lasting results. This approach often prevents the need for medication and/or surgery with minimal down-time, side effects and can not only save you time, but save you thousands of dollars.
